Advanced Electrolysis Treatments For Skin Imperfections

We use electrolysis to treat wide variety of skin imperfections. With advanced and professional training and years of experience, we can treat:

We can help with the following skin concerns:

Moles

A mole that is treated with Electrolysis can be expected to reduce by at least 50 percent after just one session.

Blood Spots

Blood spots can appear on any part of the body and can be permanently removed. The blood in the damaged area will be cauterised to clear the blemish.

Facial Red Veins

Advanced Electrolysis is a safe procedure that can be performed on facial blemishes. The Thermolysis current is directed onto the skin where red veins are present to destroy broken veins without damaging your skin.

Xanthelasma

Xanthelasma is a yellow, fatty deposit commonly found on the eyelid area that forms under your skin. Depending on the size and sensitivity of the affected area, more than one session may be required.

Sun and Age Spots

Sun and age spots can be removed quickly with Electrolysis treatment. The electric current is sent down a fine needle and directed under the skin. This causes the top layer of pigmentation to peel away from the skin surface.

Syringomas

Syringoma is a bump or growth that usually forms in clusters and groups on facial areas. When the current is applied, the blemish will reduce in size.

Warts

Warts are removed during Advanced Electrolysis treatment as the current and needle cut and cauterise the wart from the skin.

Verrucas

Just like Warts, Verrucas are eliminated from the skin during the treatment as the current and needle cut and cauterise the verruca from the skin.

Sebaceous Cysts

Sebaceous Cysts are harmless bumps that form under the skin. A clinician can treat the blemish with Advanced Electrolysis and in some cases, remove the cyst entirely within one session.

Sebaceous Hyperplasia

Sebaceous Hyperplasia is a skin condition that tends to worsen with age. The Electrologist will cauterise the affected area and remove the blemish quickly and efficiently.

Skin Tags

Advanced Electrolysis is an effective method for removing skin tags. Like warts and verrucas, a small needle is used to cauterise the skin tag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before Treatment

How Does Advanced Electrolysis Work?
Advanced Electrolysis works by a very small electric current being passed through a needle that is inserted into or nearby the blemish. The current causes the blood vessels to dry up, which effectively stops them from feeding the blemish, thereby reducing the appearance of the blemish.
Is there anything I should do before I come in for the treatment?
We will discuss the procedure with you before you come for treatment. However, it is best to avoid using retinols, exfoliating acids, or physical exfoliants for 48 hours before treatment. Avoid using fake tans for two weeks before your Advanced Electrolysis, and don’t have laser treatments in the week before, for example, for hair removal.

During Treatment

How Does Advanced Electrolysis Work? What happens during an advanced electrolysis treatment?
Advanced Electrolysis works by inserting a very fine needle into the skin, through which a very slight electric current passes. This dries up the blood vessels that feed the blemish, reducing the appearance of the blemish. It is a quick and easy procedure that produces almost instant results.
What will it feel like?
Most people report that it is less sore than they were expecting. It gives an instant hot and pricking sensation which disappears immediately. Some people may feel slightly swollen and tender afterwards but the sensation will reduce quickly.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends on the severity and extent of the blemish that we are treating. We will discuss your treatment plan during your initial consultation. Many blemishes, such as skin tags, or blood spots can be treated in just one session, while others such as deep thread veins may require two to four treatments.

After Treatment

What are the effects that I may experience after treatment?
Some people experience some tenderness or redness in the area. This can be soothed with aloe vera, make sure that you apply it with cotton wool, rather than your fingers. You can keep the aloe vera in the fridge to increase the cooling properties.
Do I have to avoid the sun for months?
It is advisable to stay out of the sun for 48 to 72 hours, as well as avoiding other heat, such as sunbeds or saunas. Use sunblock on the treated areas, even if the weather is not obviously sunny.
What are the things I should do 24-48 hours after the treatment? How should I treat the area after treatment?
Try not to touch or pick at the area. Do not apply make-up, heavy moisturisers, or perfumed lotions to the area. Do not swim, take hot showers or baths, or do other heat-related activities such as saunas or sunbeds.
Will there be any marks or scarring after treatment?
Generally, any marks or scars should fade over the weeks following your treatment, but the length of time this will take does vary from person to person.
How long will the results last?
Many of the blemishes will not return after treatment. However, some blemishes, such as thread veins may return if there is an underlying cause. Some people are prone to certain conditions such as skin tags, so these may reoccur in new locations over time.

General

Who is electrolysis suitable for?
All clients are welcome. Children under the age of 18 will need a doctor’s letter and to be accompanied by an adult to their treatments. If you have health conditions, such as diabetes, we will discuss this at your initial consultation. It is advisable to not have treatment during the first 3 months of pregnancy, and you may find that some skin blemishes disappear naturally after pregnancy.
What is the cost of advanced electrolysis treatment?
Our treatments are cost-effective and competitively priced. We will discuss the pricing for your treatment at your initial consultation. Many people only require one treatment, so the cost is often lower than you may expect.
